Swedish fashion brand Filippa K and German jewelry designer Saskia Diez have entered the next round, banding together for a fine jewelry collaboration. The eight-piece 18-karat gold and silver collection includes rings, necklaces, bracelets, and single earrings, and is priced from $102 for a silver ring to $523 for a gold bracelet. Each piece plays with circular forms and draping chains, and is inspired by the Filippa K aesthetic, said Munich-based Diez, who trained both as a goldsmith and an industrial designer.
“What I see in the clothing is that you often have a very clean line in combination with a soft and sensual element — maybe how the fabric falls, how a neckline is done,” Diez explained. “So to transfer this into the jewelry, in every piece you can see there’s a polished, firm part, and then it’s dissolving into a soft, airy chain part, to give these two aspects.”
Saskia Diez for Filippa K jewelry will be sold in eight Filippa K locations in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Antwerp, Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin. It will be available online, but only in Sweden to start, says WWD.
This marks Filippa K’s first foray into fine jewelry, though in years past they have offered some costume jewelry. It’s also the first jewelry collaboration for Diez, who lauched her own line in 2007. Diez’s signature collection is sold in select stores including Colette, Opening Ceremony, and Barneys New York.
