Diverting slightly from the rebellious, pop-punk narrative of its Spring ready-to-wear, the Gucci Summer 2017 eyewear campaign by Glen Luchford keeps in line with the brands contemporary idea of the young traveler.
Wearing vibrant optical frames and sunglasses, the campaign features the ongoing penchant for floral motifs and various colors. The images spotlight the wide-framed construction favored by the Italian house.
Chinese actress Ni Ni also stars in the Summer 2017 campaign by Alessandro Michele. The star poses in the back of a car for the moody shots. With rain-drenched windows and neon lights in the background.
The ad campaign is complemented with a short film which sees two models riding a cab at night. With detailed shots of a classic car driving through a city, the camera shifts in and out of focus. The star of the film peers through the car window and remains fixated on the city even after being joined by another rider. Their night leaves us open to interpretation.
