“That moment, in the early Eighties, when fashion, art and music came together in New York.” That’s how creative director Ian Griffiths described the idea behind the Max Mara Resort 2015 collection, shown in a small runway presentation. The layered, often slouchy looks captured that vibe with clothes that luxuriously fused hip-hop and workwear. A blue shearling coat, for example, was layered over a wool, linen and silk suit that resembled denim, while a white jacket was shown over a yellow one with baggy white pants. The styling included chunky chain necklaces, leggings and Velcro sneakers, punctuated the Eighties theme.
