For the Alexis Mabille Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection, the designer recaptured the very essence of Haute Couture: the exclusivity, the craftsmanship and beautiful materials. His work was to highlight a woman, to dress her in a way that transcribes her state of mind. Each design was therefore created to match a personality with a collection was called Tête-à-Tête.

Frivolous or thoughtful, charming or wild, playful, natural or sophisticated, confident and radiant… each of Alexis Mabille’s clients benefit from the privacy of our Couture salons, confiding in very personal ways and allowing me to sketch the outfit that will bring out her singular beauty. This collection was designed with volumes that skim or embrace the body, structured or evanescent lines, to compliment all body shapes. The fabrics he  selected — silk faille, crepe, tulle, organza — became the body’s makeup.

Each piece was hand-worked for hours, in the ateliers, enriching fabrics through washes of plissé, lace inlays, mother-of-pearl and crystal embroideries, velvet, satin and gold thread detailing. These creations were the expression of women who distinguish themselves through their style and presence.

Elongated, sleek, mermaid-like bustier sheaths, lavishly embroidered with pearls and silver threads, alternated with theatrical, roomy, ample ruffled capes in dramatic black faille. Sexy corseted bodysuits and see-through black lace catsuits that could make a Playboy Bunny blush contrasted with demure, Parisian-bourgeois ensembles of silk pleated skirts paired with white lace high-collar blouses.
