For their second joint collection, A.P.C for Retrosuperfuture has designed a single, universal pair of sunglasses for Spring 2015 – developed in two sizes and three different chromatic finishings – that follow both brands’ ideals of authenticity, coherence and visual purity. Characterized by clean lines, soft curves and an out-of-time appeal, A.P.C for RetroSuperFuture Lunettes II bring together craftsmanship and design for a new contemporary classic.

A.P.C is a paris-based ready-to-wear brand founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou, known for its minimalist designs, featuring clean lines, simple patterns and utilitarian materials. Honoring A.P.C’s balanced, refined and functional approach to fashion, RetroSuperFuture has sought to create a universal silhouette – simple enough to fit any occasion and season, yet characterized by its attention in detailing – that fits both men and women.

Interpreting some of the most classic and timeless eyewear designs, the brand’s designers gave shape to a unique silhouette: defined by long, smooth and soothing curves, the lunettes ii references classic designs, while adding a fresh touch with its prominently carved nose bridge. The sinuous and non-invasive arch on the nose-bridge was designed to give the piece an new edge, without straying from the cult-classic goal.

The Lunettes II acquire their true character with the careful selection of material, lenses and finishings, which form three different color-combinations. A sleek, shiny all-black and a warm havana versions for both men and women are available in two sizes (49 and 51) ; while a rich tortoise with playfully tinted lenses for women.

The first of two models is an all-black version, characterized by a combination of shiny black acetate and refined, subtly mirrored black lenses. These lenses by zeiss offer a layer of intrigue and edge to the model, while leaving it perfectly wearable and unobtrusive. The second model, on the other hand, features a warmer and more nuanced chromatic finishing: a rich and intrinsic havana acetate is paired with tobacco brown lenses by zeiss for a softer feel.

A.P.C for RetroSuperFuture Lunettes II come with a custom-designed packaging with a leather case and matching box and are available at A.P.C for Retro Super Future flagship stores.
