Captured at Villa Mangiacane, the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2025 RTW collection is a reimagined Renaissance and a conversation between past and present, heritage and modernity.
Era-hopping moments of Ferragamo’s history with ballet, creative director Maximilian Davis harmonized these events with the dance’s spirit into the Spring Summer 2025 collection. Layered, twisted and tied second-skin cashmere cotton pieces were inspired by practice wear. Opera coats and parachute dress in billowy silk nylons, mix with oversized tailoring and technical tracksuits. Sequin embroidered dresses were a nod to the glamour worn by dancer, choreographer and anthropologist Katherine Dunham, who Salvatore Ferragamo fit for shoes in Florence, 1950.
Pictured alongside the villa’s Renaissance frescoes and 14th century architecture and idyllic grounds, the same relaxed, effortless ease defines the collection. Sculptural sandals are worn to sunbathe while a new iteration of ballet shoes, with silk ribbons wrapping around the calf, are pictured against a polished plaster backdrop.
Patent red kitten heels, inspired by the Ferragamo archive, are juxtaposed against an antique golden sofa, while the meticulous craftmanship of an intricately interlaced Gancini coat is captured on the vibrant sidewalk. Clutching the soft nappa leather of a Gancini-pierced bag, or a frayed cotton version of the iconic Hug.
