Balenciaga’s latest series of character studies captured by Nadav Kander continues, with portraits of brand ambassador Kim Kardashian holding the Bel Air Bag in both its original and Hobo styles. The line is named for an historic Los Angeles enclave that is widely known for its glamorous denizens.

Each star of this campaign depicts a sensational version of herself, posing in a studio against a blank backdrop. For Kim’s turn in front of the camera, an accompanying video shows her leaving the setup for a short break from playing her part, during which she is updated by the photo team and leaves a voicemail note, all while carrying the large-sized Bel Air.

The Bel Air’s logo-engraved twist lock joins two clasped belts across its front in a deceptively relaxed and versatile design. Its naturally smooth leather’s finer qualities are emphasized with a hand-painted transparent matte finish. A strong construction, lined with soft Nappa, gains a grained patina over time, with the intention of becoming a long-lasting object, to be passed down over generations.
