BURBERRY FLAGSHIP STORE IN MILAN
Situated at Via Sant' Andrea 2, Milan, the store's concept reflects Burberry's new creative vision.
May 8, 2024
The Burberry flaghip store in Milan features a curation of pieces from the Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 collections, as well as the recently launched Burberry Classics – designed by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee. The store includes womenswear, menswear, shoes and an array of new-season trench coats, including the Castleford and heritage-inspired styles.
Fixtures include sculptural handmade furnishings inspired by the 1960s British abstract art and the creative salvage movement of the 1980s.
Additionally, the store’s concrete floor adapts the style of traditional mosaic floors typically found in Italy. It features a skilfully handcrafted marble mosaic in the form of Burberry’s Equestrian Knight Design.
Introduced as part of the Winter 2023 collection, the Knight bag is a versatile, softly structured bag made in Italy from natural grain calf leather, suede or shearling. The clip hardware is a play on the Equestrian Knight Design (EKD), the winning entry of a public competition from circa 1901.
The Rocking Horse bag is also inspired by Burberry’s EKD, and is playfully shaped like the beloved children’s toy. The bag features a distinctive ‘b’ closure and comes with a versatile leather strap.
The new menswear and womenswear trench coats feature a variety of fabrics, including a changeant cotton twill inspired by the 1940s designs that’s woven with contrasting yarns for an iridescent effect, alongside styles in Burberry’s signature shower-resistant gabardine, such as the Castleford. Lined with seasonal check and tailored to an oversized fit with raglan sleeves, the Castleford was introduced in Daniel Lee’s debut Winter 2023 show.
