KENZO BOUTIQUE IN DUBAI

KENZO BOUTIQUE IN DUBAI

Following its increasing retail expansion plans, Kenzo is opening its first boutique in Dubai, at the iconic Dubai Mall.

April 10, 2024

The Kenzo boutique in Dubai is a carefully curated ensemble of architectural and decorative elements will reunite Japan and France, the two geographical pillars of the House. The façade of the store echoes that of the Kenzo headquarters, located in a hôtel particulier in the heart of Paris. The signature Parisian beige stone is contrasted by the red ‘torii’ threshold, a traditional Japanese portal that here represents the separation between the outside world and the Kenzo universe to be enjoyed by visitors.

The East-meets-West creative approach continues inside the space, in which a large red lacquered structure inspired by ‘Koushido’, a classic element of Japanese houses, greets visitors. Other bright red elements include carpeting and wall fixtures, all crafted with an authentic yet contemporary vision in mind. The natural oak floor is reminiscent of the parquet at the Château de Versailles, further connecting the retail space to its French roots. The Letter ‘K’ for ‘Kenzo’ is subtly embedded in the flooring pattern, a testimony to the artisanal craft that has driven Kenzo’s creative world since its founding by #KenzoTakada. Another key visual aspect: the ceiling of the store has been designed to echo that of the Kenzo founder’s Parisian home – parallel wooden beams are here displayed in a black mat finish to complement the graphic interiors of the space.

True to the brand’s signature vision of East meets West, Kenzo’s new store concept will continue to bring all paths of life and regions of the world together. The Dubai Kenzo store at the Dubai Mall is no exception, reflecting Artisitc Director Nigo’s strong pioneering message of perfect inclusive harmony.
