The Temperley London Fall 2024 RTW collection brings the ‘high bohemia’ of the artists, writers and socialites back to life.

Metamorphosis is a central theme, seen throughout the collection in standout Monarch butterfly — a symbol of hope and change — motifs, photomontage moth prints and dégradé embellishments ­transfigure from animal print seemingly into abstracted moth’s wings. Showcased in the Atlas and Emperor styles.

The Temperley approach to party dressing is embodied in the new season designs: ‘undone and effortless’, styled with worn-in house coats and relaxed tailoring. Note the plush fluidity of the Larissa velvet, made to be in the limelight. Unifying the aesthetic and the experience, the tenet of a life well lived.

Florals are given a gothic reinvention in the Inez story, bringing an enigmatic moodiness, a fresh take on the typically feminine heritage aesthetic. A contrary attitude perfectly illustrated by one of the collection’s muses: fellow West Country dreamer, author of the paranormal, Daphne du Maurier.

A seductive fever dream set in the modern day, imagined in a heady palette of flaxen golds, ochres and rusts, enlivened by luscious greens, Wedgwood blues and Tuscan peach, weaving a narrative from the original beautiful and the damned.
