For the Tod’s Resort 2024 collection, Creative Director Walter Chiapponi proposes a collection where the essentiality and construction of shapes enhance the quality of materials and Italian craftsmanship. Through a process of reduction, deconstruction and reconstruction, a new wardrobe is born, that focuses on shapes, fabrics and colors.
The leather, on which Tod’s has built its global identity, becomes a fabric, light and touchable, a plongé nappa with a fluid and soft hand that redesigns timeless garments from the women’s wardrobe: biker bomber jackets with sportswear proportions and tailoring details; men’s jackets and suits, where the collar of the jacket and the shirt have been removed or where the reverse are a trompe-l’oeil. Wide trousers with no pockets; pencil skirts that define the silhouette of the collection, sensual, stretched and linear.
The color palette is dominated by warm, natural tones of fine woods and ivory, tone on tone shades which recall summer landscapes.
The bags of the season are the Tod’s icons. The T Timeless messenger and the T Case change in the proportions and craftsmanship that transform them into unique pieces, which aim to define the personality of the woman who wears them.
Leather inlays and patchwork enrich the large sized T Timeless tote bags, in crochet and fabric transform their surface; raffia and canvas are mixed with natural leather in Kate’s chain buckets. Everywhere, skilled construction and craftsmanship make the bags soft and rich to touch and in an interesting range of shapes.
The shoes of the collection continue the history of Tod’s and renew its tradition. The moccasin, a fundamental element of the brand’s DNA presents fresh details such as the iconic T Ring chain or brushed leather. In the Tod’s world, everything is understated. The soft elegance of a woman who finds inspiration in the ‘good’ fashion of Italian tradition but where personality and contemporary lifestyle is celebrated.
