With a futuristic view of nature, the Acne Studios High Summer 2023 capsule is emblazoned with acid hues and distorted prints of bleeding flowers, the capsule collection celebrates growth and evolution.
The collection distills some of the hero concepts originally seen in the runway collection in Paris, from February. Archetypes of wardrobe classics are reimagined bring together natural and artificial in a constant tension of contrasting ideas. It’s a game of hard versus soft as sheer, delicate fabrics with frayed hems clash against painted, crackled leather. This juxtaposition continues in the colors too, with shades of green and blue meeting earthy tones. A focus is on the prints, which take inspiration from flowers and other elements of nature that splash across dresses, pants and skirts. Silhouettes are entrenched with fluidity – including the elongated, maxi dresses and puddle trousers as well as the slashed, asymmetric hems of mini skirts.
Completing the High Summer look are statement accessories, the oversized frames are back, now also available in black, and pink on top of white. The signature elongated skinny scarves cut on the bias come in acid colours add length and fluidity to the outfits as they merge and contrast against the backdrops of the ready-to-wear pieces.
The sharp angles of the Distortion cross-body bag are softened through a new fuzzy, towel fabric in the softest shade of lilac and the classic Logo Tote bag is now oversized and flashy thanks to a similarly tactile terry cloth, executed in a vivid shade of acid green.
