For the Prada Spring 2022 RTW collection, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons consider ideas of seduction, of the expression of sexuality through clothing.

For womenswear, the exchange between the body and its clothing speaks to the very nature of sensuality and the language of seduction. Hinting at corsetry, jackets are secured with loose lacing at the bust, showing a sliver of torso beneath. Mini skirts constructed with silk trains draw attention to the bareness of the legs. Knit sweaters are cleverly constructed with boning at the chest, adding form to the typically fluid garment. Lead by actor Hunter Schafer alongside models Selena Forrest, Julia Nobis and Lina Zhang, these women are captured in the act of dressing, or undressing.

For menswear, the collection projects a sense of the utopian, the ideal of hope, positivity, with honest and effortless feel, while still brimming with that edgy coolness that is quintessentially Prada. The season sees floral patterns added to hoodies and introduces a nautical theme, all of which contrast the business-ready summer wear. The result is an uncanny escape, concluding in a space where nature and artifact interact. Showcasing the menswear collection, global star Tom Holland becomes an embodiment of today’s Prada man in a series of photographs by David Sims.
