The equestrian world serves as a source of inspiration for the House of Herrera and this new handbag launch.

The fascination of a young Carolina in a noble animal such as the horse and all that surrounds it and the ridding crop or fusta, is the drive behind the new Carolina Herrera Fusta handbag collection.
Fusta Bag is inspired by the craftsmanship involved in saddlery, the centuries-old art of working leather to make all kinds of equestrian accessories. The ridding crop becomes the focal point around which this bag has been created.
The aesthetics of equestrianism can be seen in such details as the uniform, four millimeter stitching, or the choice of the House’s exclusive Sequoia double face leather, which stands out for its lightness and flexibility. The leather takes its name from the tree itself in an allegory of the characteristics and properties of its bark, which protect it and make it unique.
The use of the riding crop is the differentiating element that is integrated into each of its versions: shopping, hobo or cross body. The handles become a fundamental distinguishing feature in which our craftsmen have devoted many hours of research to achieve an impeccable result, maintaining the original aesthetics of the crop and the practical aspect required for its use.
It is a bag that has been made possible thanks to a meticulous study of pattern making and construction by the expert hands in our Leather Atelier in Spain. Fusta Bag fuses tradition with a contemporary design inspired by one of the most beautiful disciplines in the world.
