The high-performance Vivienne Westwood x Asics collection draws strength from the quality of their designs and materials, using advanced technology and innovation within their work. It’s the sharing of these design philosophies which formed the inspiration for this on-going design collaboration.

“I really wanted to capture the playfulness and color of the high-performance collection, imagine the terrains in which they could operate, exaggerate and find the mischief I see so intrinsic to Westwood’s world with our film. There is an agility to the shoes, a practicality that offered room for choreographic play and in a sense a lightness, there then lay this game between the swift and the bright, and that became the heart of what we created, the dancers shifting and moving and operating always in color,” said Holly Blakey.

The exclusive GEL-KAYANO 27 LTX takes inspiration from Westwood and (Malcolm) McLaren’s controversial 1974 collection ‘SEX’ – which challenged the status-quo, featuring provocative clothing; including rubber wear for the office, leather bondage, t-shirts with zips and holes and bold slogans.

Inspired by this look, the custom GEL-KAYANO 27 LTX is constructed with an upper that is detailed with rubber stocking seams and a statement zip, presented in a translucent matte material, printed with the Westwood orb and ASICS details and finished with a neoprene inner sock, creating the look of rubber tights.

The limited-edition Vivienne Westwood x Asics GEL-KAYANOLTX 27 are available in 3 colorways – black, lilac and orange, and will be available from limited time in global stores and online.
