Located at 962 Madison Avenue, Mykita continues its love affair with New York City and opens a second location on the Upper East Side. A stone’s throw from the Carlyle Hotel, the petite boutique with a 162 square foot shop floor on Madison Avenue brings the distinctively modern design aesthetic of the Berlin-based eyewear brand to one of the most renowned high-end shopping boulevards in the world.
“We are super excited to open our second store in NYC and making our personal service available to a longstanding customer base directly in the neighbourhood,” says Mykita founder Moritz Krueger. “We still strongly believe in physical meeting places– looking beyond the current situation, coming together in person will be more important than ever. Madison Avenue is a retail destination with iconic status that continues to evolve and transform, a place where tradition mixes with innovation in a way that makes us feel at home.”
Designed by Mykita’s in-house architecture team, the new shop appears like a cool, calm oasis with a steel blue façade and large window front. Once inside, visitors are welcomed into a bright, minimalist space with a seated consultation area, providing an unrushed and comfortable atmosphere for a personal and professional optical service.
In addition to established design classics from the main collection, such as the signature ultra-light stainless-steel glasses, finely composed mixed material models, and award-winning Mykita Mylon collection made with 3D printing technology, the Mykita Shop UES also carries the coveted design collaborations with Maison Margiela, Helmut Lang, and Leica. The shop team offers a personal service, including an expert style consultation, frame fittings, adjustments, and small repairs, as well as prescription lenses by leading optical brand, Zeiss.
