Inspired by the designs and chromatic palette of tie-dye, the Christian Dior Tie & Dior high jewelry collection expands the universe of the Gem Dior and Dior et Moi lines, blending abstract forms and vibrant colors.
Reinterpreted on jewelry, this artisanal textile dyeing technique – which notably embellishes couture silhouettes in Dior’s women’s collections – pays tribute, more than ever, to the inventiveness of Dior Joaillerie.
In the manner of a print on a delicate fabric or the subtle trail of ink on blotting paper, these creations embody surprising movement, for the first time blending a number of exceptional stones in different sizes that magnify figures of style. Round, oval, pear and marquise cuts are highlighted and underscore various gradations of color from pink to white, and green to gray.
Pushing the art of realism to the extreme, Victoire de Castellane uses lines of diamonds and gemstones in gradations of color like punctuation, lending rhythm to necklaces, bracelets, double rings and asymmetrical earrings. On the back of the parures, platinum, white, yellow and pink gold come together to reinvent hypnotic plays of color, reflecting the House’s sense of detail and excellence.
The Artistic Director also gives pearls a new twist, setting them off-center on certain pieces, using their classical spirit to enhance the intensity of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and gray spinels with their natural, silky luster.
Presented on a line-up of models clad in custom goddess gowns by Maria Grazia Chiuri, and on their male counterparts, the Tie & Dior jewels twinkle in hypnotic displays of contrasting color outlined with diamonds and set off with pearls.
