For the Victoria Beckham Resort 2021 collection, the designer referenced David Bowie, sporting gold-flecked lamé pinstripes and shrunken rainbow-striped Lurex sweaters.
“When we started to work on resort, we knew the first drop was going to be in December. And we thought, well, by then everyone’s going to be out of their leggings, and actually want to get dressed and go out.”
The characteristic Victoria Beckham tuxedo tailoring was on hand with the Thin White Duke–era suit with a cropped jacket and high-waisted pleated trousers worn with a lace basque is a standout.
Dresses were highlighted with an easy red number with an ’80s-style cavalier collar and one of the brand’s draped cocktail numbers with a covered-up front and naked back, suspended from criss-crossed rouleau straps.
Beckham is reemphasizing the ’70s-ish denims—high-cut flares with contrast patch pockets—that were formerly relegated to her second line.
