Shop the interactive Saint Laurent Spring 2020 RTW collection where Anthony Vaccarello retools, rechannels, and reiterates Le Smoking and hippie deluxe Russian lines created for a new generation.
The collection features micro shorts and Bermuda cutoff jeans; riffs on tailored jackets; Betty Catroux sunglasses; and slick, funnel-leg Western boots.
The segue to hippie glam—the style that Yves Saint Laurent elevated from the street in 1976—behins with turban-tied Lurex head scarves and then moved into an extended run of gorgeous gold paisley embroidered dresses, tissue-like chiffon blouses, pleated lamé skirts, peasant smocks, and off-the-shoulder gathered necklines.
This is a softer, more delicate side to Vaccarello’s sensibility, and one rich with a kind of relatable, easy romanticism shown in a natural, rocky setting with ducks in ponds, snakes neatly wrapped around a model’s legs and a collection of long and flowy silhouettes – some featuring embroidery, others with ethereal print – as well as transparent tops, mini-shorts and structured dresses with unique cut-out features.
