The Vera Wang Fall 2020 Bridal collection represents a complete departure from the bridal vernacular with a line up of dusty pastels, neutrals, and black shades.

In luminous charmeuse, crepe, and silk faille cut, the collection features mini bubble skirts, high-low gowns, and voluminous coat dresses that revealed or concealed the legs with hook-and-eye closures. The silhouettes are narrow, architectural, body skimming silhouettes and bridal components influenced by RTW and a cool girl mentality. A few came with touches of menswear tailoring, like the “tails” trailing behind a mini, and others had gothic embroidery, which brides will be able to customize with different letters, numbers, or words.

A few beige illusion gowns with light beading are actually comprised of several slips and bras layered together, while other looks are seen with a removable satin bra top or extra-wide obi belt.

This season, there are no flowers, no beads, no bouquets, the traditional bridal gar. Instead Wang is looking to the future of bridal wear with a more pared down modern, youthful interpretation of wedding gowns.
