The J.W. Anderson Fall 2019 ad campaign is set in the picturesque landscape of the English countryside.
The campaign features first timer models Krisha, Djeneba, Rose and Enomha, who were street cast especially for this project. In Mitchell’s signature style, the girls pose in various pastoral settings. They are posed on wooden stilts, juxtaposing the carefee, youthful and elegant nature of the collection with the classic, simple beauty of the country landscape.
For the Fall collection, Anderson wanted to suggest “the idea of a woman walking on clouds—this idea of fantasy and imagination in fashion,” he said. “I mean, that’s why we do it.”
An installation of two key images are featured on the façade of the brand’s forthcoming London Soho Flagship store location, scheduled to open in February 2020.
