Tom Ford debuts his collection of skincare products all based on one the highly efficient ingredient.

Since founding his eponymous beauty line – starting with fragrance in 2006 followed by color cosmetics in 2011 – Tom Ford’s luxury products have become some of the most coveted in the industry. Tom Ford is now expanding his partnership with Estée Lauder Companies Inc. to launch Tom Ford Research – his first collection of skincare.
“I created Tom Ford Research to merge high performance, scientific skin care with a truly luxurious delivery system,” said Ford.
Three years in the making, to create the products Ford was given his own lab by Estée Lauder with a team of researchers exclusively devoted to the brand. “I wanted to start a serious skin-care arm and have it be science-based,” Ford said. “This is a real skin-care product and regimen. I’m not a designer who has thrown his name on a beautifully packaged cream.”
The hero ingredient in both products is caffeine, derived from gyokuro, a Japanese green tea, and the very rare white porcelain cacao. “You need caffeine as a stimulant—it wakes you up,” he explains, detailing the hero ingredient around which he has developed his first skin-care line, Tom Ford Research. “It’s a stimulant for your face in the same way that it is for your body.”
After trialling over 75 different formulations from the team, Tom Ford Research will launch with two products: Serum Concentrate and Crème Concentrate.
The luxurious, highly potent serum absorbs instantly into skin to visibly enhance texture, tone, and luminosity. The appearance of pores, lines, and wrinkles is diminished while skin’s healthy radiance and visible resiliency are renewed. Meanwhile, the hydrating, ultra-rich cream feels feather-light on skin. The cream melts into skin, infusing it with luminosity and radiance for an energized appearance. Skin is recharged and visibly renewed, while the appearance of lines and wrinkles is diminished.
The collection will be available in the US as of August 2019 and will roll out worldwide in September.
