Inspired by Italian director Antonio Pietrangeli’s 1965 cult film “Io la conoscevo bene,” Creative Director Gherardo Felloni recreates the story of a young, aspiring actress who moves from the country to the big city to chase her dreams of stardom for the Roger Vivier Fall 2019 collection.

Deep in the heart of upstate New York, a magnificent mansion looms in the horizon. Beyond its polished gardens and massive doors, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon is setting the stage for her class.

Young actress AnnaSophia Robb is determined to learn from the best. She’s heard about her professor’s fashionable preferences and arrives at the mansion, dressed to impress in Très Vivier boots, the buckle polished to a perfect shine, and her matching Beau Vivier bag – a classic silhouette that her teacher will surely appreciate. Inside the grandiose salon, she joins the young actors, a curious mix of characters as eclectic as the shoes on their feet. Sensible yet stylish for some, wearing Viv’ Utility boots or Viv’ Run snow booties that keep off the cold from the snow-covered landscape. Dainty and ladylike for others who prefer the classics, wearing Très Vivier block-heel pumps, while carrying a vanity case (a drama student must always be prepared to put her stage face on). Drama teacher extraordinaire Susan Sarandon guides her class through each lesson: laughter, speech and accents. With each lesson comes a masterclass in polished dressing, amidst velvet and suede, satin and silk – footwear and fantasy made real by Roger Vivier.

For the new Roger Vivier Fall 2019 collection, Gherardo Felloni continues to exemplify the three pillars of the Maison: silhouette, color and exclusivity. Silhouette through the new Courbette heel, a bicolor, chunky heel with a curved interior, inspired by an archive heel created by Monsieur Vivier in 1960.

Color is showcased through the mix of vibrant and neutral hues found throughout the collection. The bright magenta of the Courbette pumps, the vivid green of the Viv’ Tex boots, the bold violet of the Broche Vivier ballerinas and the classic black of the Beau Vivier bag.
