An effortless elegant look, injected with an adventurous touch, of Seventies’ icons, such as Elsa Peretti and Lauren Hutton, inspires the relaxed, creative and free-spirited attitude of the Missoni Resort 2020 collection.
Stiffness is banned, rules are broken, the individual instinct steals the spotlight. Familiar motifs are re-interpreted to create new patterns, combining imagination and experimentation. The iconic codes of the Missoni DNA are mixed and matched and they are updated through exotic influences.
An equatorial, tropical mood meets the essential shapes of a city wardrobe. Reworked zebra motifs, revisited leopard spots, multicolor foliage and the new Missoni artsy camouflage create a kaleidoscopic array of patterns juxtaposed to the brand’s signature bold geometries.
Jacquard mini dresses are worn also as vests on fluid maxi dresses. Shirts take center stage: from the bowling styles shown in a patchwork of different materials to the fitted silhouettes with roomy sleeves and the more classic options punctuated with knitted details. They are paired with high-waisted pants or with the new skirt pants injected with an easy-chic attitude.
Micro aviator jackets crafted from sartorial fabrics introduce a mannish touch, while the classic tuxedo comes in a knitted version enriched with metallic accents.
The artisanal feel of maxi intarsia cardigans returns in the sandals showing leather laces to wrap around the ankle and in the mini bags developed in collaboration with Iacobella Gaetani. Silk scarves embellish the belts putting the focus on the waist, but also the hats and the bijoux, including metallic chokers and cuffs.
Like talismans, memories of an exciting travel, pendants reveal handmade decorations with a tribal spirit, while other metal and enamel good luck charms are embellished with zodiac signs.
