The new Fendi Spring 2019 ad campaign features three top models of the moment: Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech, and Anok Yai, shot by Karl Lagerfeld in very strong poses. The set of the campaign takes inspiration from Fendi’s headquarters in Rome and acts as a modern frame for the new Collection whilst expressing the Maison’s DNA and emblematic Romanity.
“Karl was very much inspired by our stairs at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome. It’s like a mini version of the beautiful stairs, a kind of metaphysical idea of that”, states Silvia Venturini Fendi.
Entwined in an urban jungle, the contemporary mood of the collection delights in the symmetries of the natural world and of utilitarian romance. The collection features silk dresses, double corsets, refracted furs and full skirts, as well as jackets, parkas and fluid blousons with gathered patch pockets and ruched sleeves in embossed FF logo leather, summer wool, or PVC. Garments are engineered for an evocative tone made of looking-glass transparencies, airy perforations and tessellated patterns. The colour palette is mineral, made of sage, cognac, burgundy, tangerine, optic white, denim and sand tones.
The accessories feature the iconic Peekaboo bag in different sizes, from the Peekaboo X-Liteto new versions protected by the DeFender waterproof cover. The legendary Baguette returns in a new oversized shape with ultralight and soft embossed FF logo leather or in denim with colour-contrasting profiles. The FFreedom shoes –satin pumps or high-tech sandals –add a final twist with their glamorous and hyper-feminine allure.
