Models Jing Wen and Su Kexin join rapper VaVa for the Alexander Wang Collection 1 Drop 3 ad campaign captured by Brianna Capozzi.
Styled by Haley Wollens, the model trio poses in Chinoiserie-inspired looks complete with Mandarin collars, cargo pants and utility rompers and the crystal-embellished handle bags and tracksuits branded with an Asian aesthetic.
The collection launches around the Lunar New Year and highlights the characteristic red color through the campaign. The collection features traditional Chinese accessories staged in the campaign and used as props.
“Collection 1” also presented Wang with an opportunity to reflect on his experiences as a first-generation American — specifically, what his home country means to both him and his eponymous, family-founded brand. “I was so inspired by them coming here and not speaking English … all of the jobs that they had to do to build up a better life here for me.”
