CAMILLA AND MARC PRE-FALL 2019 COLLECTION
Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman explore the idea of human connection and intimacy for Pre-Fall.
January 7, 2019
The Camilla and Marc Pre-Fall 2019 collection was inspired by the loss of human connection in an alternate society driven by technology.
In order to bring some awareness back to our own bodies, the designers utilized cocoon-like shapes in dresses, coats, and knitwear. They played to house codes of harmonious contrasts by offering fluid evening dresses to offset structured tailoring.
The collection was tactile, especially when it came to a beautifully designed transparent nylon top with a wool rib knit. A slim three-piece suit made with a velvet micro herringbone was also a fine example of the strong, deliberate tailoring that’s getting better and better each season at Camilla and Marc.
The outerwear was sculptural and chic, as was a diaphanous red gown that looked as though it might move in fluid waves around the body.
