The Theory Spring 2019 RTW collection was inspired by women’s Creative Director Francesco Fucci’s upbringing in the south of Italy.

Fucci explains, “in this collection I explored, as always, the relationship between man and woman. Strong
tailoring, structure, pinstripes, and suiting contrast sensuality, softness, and fluidity.”

Using a palette thatevokes the Italian landscape including bleached whites, maize, deep yellow, terra cotta, tobacco, pale blues, and pistachio, the collection plays with proportion and mixes lingerie details with menswear references such as oversized jackets, and men’s inspired shoes.

As the season progresses, garments become light and loose, recalling long, quiet, hot afternoons in the south of
Italy. “My way of designing is to simplify,” says Fucci. A feeling of luxury is evoked in the use of fabrics, which includes pure linen, silk charmeuse, light nappa leather, sanded silk, and double twisted cotton.

This is Fucci’s second collection for Theory, following his Pre-Spring debut.
