More than just a sneaker, the adidas Originals ARKYN is an idea; it’s for those that won’t be labeled
Kendall Jenner, Syv de Blare, Florencia Galarza, Ana Kras and Marisa Competello celebrate their individuality and authenticity as style and thought leaders with the launch of the new adidas Originals Arkyn sneaker.
After revealing that it would be dropping a brand new silhouette called the ARKYN late last year, adidas Originals is finally releasing the sneaker in April. A trainer for creating, working, thinking, inspiring and collaborating in, the shoe is made with creatives in mind. “It’s time to push back on the cliches, they’re wearing thin. A new, technical silhouette, rooted in adidas’ iconic vintage style, that looks both to yesterday and tomorrow. Like the best creatives, the shoe is inspired by the archive and the future,” states the label.
Fronted by Kendall Jenner, the ARKYN campaign was shot by Renell Medrano in Jenner’s Soho apartment. The sneaker features a clean and techincal mesh upper, decorated with the brand’s classic Three Stripe detailing as well as a mesh tongue. Designed with a sock-like constriction, the silhouette sports a neoprene heel and a minimalist lacing system that can be worn however the individual chooses. “No rules. No Instructions. No Hype,” is the idea behind the sneaker, and echoes the idea of creativity to the fullest.
