December 4, 2017
British lifestyle brand Ted Baker continues to expand into Canada, opening its first ever boutique in Montreal, Quebec at the CF Carrefour Laval shopping destination.
The 2,920 square-foot store will derive inspiration from Montreal’s acclaimed International Jazz Festival, the largest of its kind in the world, and the British Jazz clubs of Camden, England. By taking design cues from both the French-Canadian world of music and that of Great Britain, the store will immerse shoppers in a global rhythmic jazz experience.
Customers will pass vintage street lights, iron railings, and abundant plant life upon entering the store, as if ambling into a local jazz club. Felt acoustic panels and bespoke wallpaper adorned with images of Camden Jazz clubs line the walls and vinyl records, microphones, brass instruments, martini glasses, and neon signs act as props throughout the store. The cash desk will resemble a grand piano with keys and strings to boot and chandeliers will hang theatrically from the ceiling, enveloping shoppers in the jazz world of the past.
This store will open with Ted’s exquisite Fall 2017 womenswear, menswear and accessories collections. With a nod to his heritage, Ted plunges forward with a sportier sort of menswear for Fall with advanced fabrications, emblematic branded trims and contemporary seaming create a clean-lined, leisurely look, while remaining smart. The womenswear collection ranges from high shine satins and rich metallic jacquards to heavy compact crepes and soft, fluid knits.
