BURBERRY HOLIDAY 2017 COLLECTION FILM STARRING CARA DELEVINGNE & MATT SMITH
Burberry enlists British stars for a spectacular and spirited holiday film.

British actors Cara Delevingne and Matt Smith appear in a portfolio of images and a film captured for the Burberry Holiday 2017 collection shot by British photographer Alasdair McLellan.
The film opens with Delevingne singing Elvis Presley’s Always on My Mind, which then fades into a rendition by the Pet Shop Boys. Shot in black and white, Delevingne and Smith are both buttoned up — him in a suit with slicked back hair, she in a clear trench with an oversize crystal earring — and distant at first. Then the video changes to VHS-style color, and the two play with plenty of Burberry staples, like classic trench coats and cashmere scarves, all rendered in the iconic Burberry check that dominated the September 2017 runway.
The series of images features the model-turned-actress clad in the brand’s signature checked scarf and a laminated trench coat from a collection which lands in store and online today.
“I am so proud to share this new shoot I did with Alasdair McLellan and Matt Smith,” Delevingne said this morning. “Thank you to the creative genius and my dear friend Christopher Bailey for involving me in this and all the incredible projects over the years.
Smith wears one of the heritage label’s famous trench coats in a distinctive checkered pattern, while Cara has been styled in a striking see-through version.
“The chance to work with Christopher, who with his design and vision, has contributed so much to a brilliant British brand and indeed left a footprint not only on fashion but British culture itself, is a huge privilege,” said Matt Smith. “Working with both Alasdair McLellan and Cara Delevingne, two fashion and creative heavyweights, was also very appealing, and made partnering for this campaign an easy choice for me.”
