COACH SPRING 2018 RTW COLLECTION
The Coach Spring 2018 season captures all the glitz and grit of New York City.
September 15, 2017
Executive Creative Director Stuart Vevers presented the Coach Spring 2018 collection, a dual-gender show held at Basketball City in New York. Glitter and shine, nostalgic silhouettes, and an ode to the works of artist Keith Haring.
The women’s collection showcased nostalgic prairie touches and the louche, unraveled sensuality of slip dresses. The men’s collection took more of a subversive edge – think more Lou Reed or William S. Burroughs. Hawaiian and prairie prints, and biker and varsity silhouettes were mixed with layers of archival Keith Haring graphics. Metallic leather jackets and sequined slip dresses made their way down a glittering runway—all juxtaposed with deep, dark colors making them uniquely Coach.
Making a comeback was the Mailbox Bag, an archival style, first introduced in 1972 by Bonnie Cashin. This re-edition features the work of artist Keith Haring and is a partnership in collaboration with Artestar, a global brand licensing and creative consultancy representing elite art, fashion and design brands.
Celebrity guests included Selena Gomez – the face of Coach – James Franco, Emma Roberts, Kiersey, Anna Collins, Petra Collins, Sabrina Carpenter, Kacy Hill, St Beauty, Vic Mensa and Neels Visser. International celebrities included Charli XCX, Tiffany Tang, Timmy XU, Hikari Mori, Lauren Tsai, Jesinta Franklin, Carmen Hamilton, Yoyo Cao, Fazura, Praya Lundberg, Cinta Laura, Park Shin-hye, Irene Kim and Chiara Ferragni. All wore Coach 1941.
