Eight young creatives unite for the Versus Versace Fall 2017 ad campaign, capturing the energy of subcultures that breathe inclusion across the planet – the new sub-versus community.
“I really admire the young creatives in the new Versus campaign. I call them the Sub-Versus Generation, a community of subcultures taking a stand for their beliefs and for their individuality.” says Donatella Versace about the cast.
Photographed by Ben Toms, each shot expresses an authentic and spontaneous mood, reflecting the Versus universe through the young talent’s eyes. The lo-fi images star model Lily McMenamy, rapper Tommy Genesis, actor Judah Lang, model/musician Tina Sawayama, artist/activist Hunter Schafer, singer Cosmo Pyke, model/artist Wilson Oryema, and singer Rejjie Snow.
Where mainline Versace usually goes for glossy and high-end in their campaigns, the new images for Subversus show a faded, harder look for the Versus brand, which really accentuates its edgier appeal. The new season spotlights streetwear fashion including logo embellishments, mesh and denim.
Robbie Spencer styled the shoot with Hiromi Ueda on makeup and Mari Ohashi on hair.
