rag & bone presents ‘Hair’, a rag & bone Films Production, set to premiere at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, directed by John Turturro, featuring John Turturro and Bobby Cannavale.
The 5-minute film takes place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and is a real-world first for the studio, its cinéma vérité quality allowing viewers to assume an observational position as the two actors contemplate the finer points of personality through hair.
Cannavale gets real about hitting the salon and explains his complex feelings about the adventure as the duo takes their mirror-facing seats in the film’s trailer, above. “I can’t just have anybody doing my hair,” he declares, adding, “I need my hair done a certain way so that I can get into character.”
Though “HAIR” presents Rag & Bone’s very first documentary-style piece, the film follows the high-reaching 2015 release of “The Driver,” the short-form, Michael Pitt starrer that released in unison with his monochromatic Spring/Summer 2015 campaign.
John Turturro is an award-winning actor, writer and director. He is known for his performances in such films as Do the Right Thing, Quiz Show, The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou? Multi-talented, Turturro’s compelling roles as both an actor and director have become well-revered in the world of cult and arthouse film.
