This Roger Vivier Spring 2017 season, the Vivier woman is ready to travel, and with her comes her unique sense of luxury and sophistication. Parisienne at her soul, she is multicultural and deeply connected to the world around her. She mixes with aplomb influences from near and far and is just as at ease in Ibiza as she is in Paris while deftly playing with traditional codes day and night dressing.
In keeping with its long tradition of tapping some of the world’s best-dressed women, the accessories brand has enlisted the globetrotting fashion icon and founder of the retail platform underoursky.com as the face of its new Roger Vivier Spring 2017 collection, aptly titled “Urban Nomadic.” Shot by British artist Quentin Jones, the images feature Sanchez de Betak decked out in a number of pieces from the collection, their inspiration being drawn from both her Argentinian background and the Parisian sensibilities that she shares with the iconic house.
“Sofia is the ideal Vivier woman,” explains the brand’s creative director Bruno Frisoni. “She is like Ines [de la Fressange]: she has that joie de vivre and energy, and they both share that idea that life is above all a game. She has amazing fashion sense, precisely because she doesn’t take fashion seriously.”
In addition to lending her visage to the collection’s images, Sanchez de Betak also lent her creative talents to the brand, teaming up with Frisoni on a new limited-edition bag: the Viv’ Tango. Inspired by her Argentinean roots and the seductive dance of her native country, the exclusive design is a striking interpolation of the brand’s classic cabas style, this time reimagined with laser-cut guipure detailing and a splash of small, sparkling studs.” It’s an honor for me to share the best of my country through this bag,” says Sanchez de Betak. “I love Tango, and as I can’t go to Buenos Aires as often as I’d like, this bag is like a little piece of my land that I can take with me everywhere.”
