This season the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring 2017 ad campaign and collection is inspired by the Mediterranean.

Shop by famed fashion photographer Juergen Teller, the campaign is set in Greece and stars actress Pamela Anderson along with models Elena Azzaro and Dienya Ba.

“We have a studio and a team there and after all these years we have fallen in love with Italy and the Mediterranean. I love the sea and being close to it- I thought ‘I want to make the summer collection about the Mediterranean’, an homage to the people and the place. We are calling it ‘Europa’. I love everything around this big sea. There is a similarity if you are in Italy or Greece, Spain or France- suddenly you are in front of this fantastic blue and time changes and your attitude to life changes and the way you look changes. It makes people look so lovely and healthy. It’s this Mediterranean way of life I adore and am inspired by,” said Andreas Kronthaler.

Teller explained that the inspiration for the campaign always comes from the idea of the collection first. The photographer has a house in Greece and believed it was the perfect setting for the campaign.

Meanwhile Pamela Anderson stated, “Andreas asked me to come to Greece with them. This time we were shooting at Juergen’s home. I love the apocalyptic feel when we shoot. A warrior comes over me and it feels like life and death. How will we survive the climate and over population? We may all become cannibals – or eat rocks.
