For the Mulger Pre-Fall 2017 David Koma stirs an elegant Parisian nostalgia at the Maison, considering architectural lines mingled with languid glamour. Inspired by Art Deco detailing and Tamara de Lempicka’s paintings, the collection revolves around sharp, long-line tailoring and exercises in asymmetric drape that combine for a soft and sculptural play of textures.

Bright shots of emerald, marigold, scarlet, vermillion, and lapis blue are injected into the classical black and white palette; each exquisite shade accented by the touch of opulent textiles like silk satin, crushed velvet, lambskin, and patent leather.

Featuring a strong planed shoulder and pointed lapels, the collection’s tailoring includes long blazers or gilets paired with wrapped skirts or trousers (cut as cigarette pants or with a generous, tailored flare). Trench details form a key stylistic flourish; buckles cinch cutaway midi-skirts or a scoop neck leather dress whilst polished brackets and eyelets gather ruched jersey tops and tied silk column gowns for airs of sophisticated utility. Softening the collection’s masculine edge, plisse separates and loose day shirting offer light new volumes that play against bright silver hardware details, whilst for evening a series of Arum lily sequined appliques adorn sheer tulle tops and a transparent floor-length gown.

The ‘Choker’ handbag returns to the Mugler Paris accessories collection for Pre Fall 2017 featuring new shapes and finishes, including a roomy suede shopper and in silver embossed nubuck leather.
