The Chloé Pre-Fall 2017 collection features In a whimsical adaptation of the indie heroines of late 70’s New York.

“The Chloé Pre Fall 2017 collection is all about capturing the attitude of soulful Chloé girls who have a striking sense of independence,” said Creative Director Clare Waight Keller.

The collection encompasses a filmic wardrobe of pieces fit for free-spirited character actresses like Meryl Streep or Shelley Duvall. Translated for today, their carefree attitude emerges as soft, utilitarian silhouettes with romantic details, in dusty shades from off white to butter yellow, marigold, pale mint, carmine, cinnamon, and silver grey.

Tailored blazers and coats fall from a puff shoulder or textured sleeve into longline shapes, creating a subtle flared proportion that accentuates the line of pleated culottes, cropped boot-cut pants or pooling tweed trousers. Pinafore and overall styles abound in shades of denim and self-stripe wool jacquard; they are cut with scooped necklines, braces, and buttons, and layered with roll-neck viscose knits.

Saharienne elements are exposed with aviator shearling collars and bomber zippers to become textural parkas, blousons, and anoraks in patchwork shearling, blasted leather, viscose, padded denim, and felt wool.

Eveningwear shimmers and adds a 1940’s touch with languid crepe cocktail dresses and bell-sleeve blouses are adorned with smocked keyhole shoulders or jour echelle laddered lace, whilst floating ruffle shirts and cocktail dresses are crafted in flower-embroidered tulle netting.

The new ‘Owen’ double-strap shoulder bag is crafted in leather and suede, with an architectural barrel shape, chunky brushed gold hardware, and knotted tassels. The new bag joins new colourways in the ‘Nile’ crescent-shaped evening bag, the ‘Faye’ backpack, and the iconic ‘Drew’ bag accomplished in artisanal leather marquetry. Ankle leather boots feature a block heel, a decorative leather -laced placket and scalop edges, whilst delicate strappy sandals are adorned with a twisted leather bow detail sprayed with metallic studs.
