The new Mulberry ‘It’s What’s Inside That Counts’ Christmas film tells the story of a traditional British holiday starring a querulous mother, bickering sisters and a son with a secret. All of the roles are filled by child actors, giving the storytelling an unexpected twist.
A story of frustration and forgiveness, the film explores how returning to your childhood home and the loving spirit of Christmas can trigger the realisation that in the end “it’s what’s inside that counts”.
We see Rose (played by Beau Gadson) deciding to give her sister her brand new Mulberry Bayswater bag, wrapping it up in leftover paper and proving that ‘it’s what’s inside that counts.’ Also starring in the campaign are Darcey Brown Sutton, Catherine Williams Boyle, Stanley Shelton and Tommy Fletcher McMeekin.
Shot at West Horsley Place in Surrey, the campaign was written by Hugo Guinness, the man behind The Grand Budapest Hotel and directed by Albert Moya.
Mulberry Creative Director Johnny Coca: “When I was a kid, all that I wanted to do was to be grown up so I could be like my dad. Now that I am an adult, I just want to be a kid again! Christmas brings out the kid in all of us, and this is what I love about using children to tell our story this year.”
Discover in this new film the iconic handbags to forever-classic accessories and practical men’s essentials; ready to be wrapped up and sent off in time for Christmas.
