The Chloé Resort 2017 collection channels the low-key elegance of California, inspired by the nostalgic and sun-warmed spirit of its hills and desert canyons.

Noble materials are interwoven with workwear elements and a long, slim silhouette that balances effortless tailored separates with a cascade of delicate layers that float around the body. The spring palette warms from signature Chloé shades of blush, white and powdery desert tones through to warm oranges, rose pink, maroon, and navy blue.

With great-looking graphic striped denim, the ’70s play a role as big ponchos and gaucho pants “came from South America,” explains Creative Director Clare Waight Keller. The serape-style striped ponchos are among the collection’s most distinctive pieces. Waight Keller paires selective pieces for a cool vintage military look and juxtaposes other pieces for a softer more ethereal look with hippie-style dresses with ruffle details and maxi cuts. The collection remains feminine distinctive, tailored yet dainty.

This season, the new Mily bag in goatskin features both chain and calfskin straps and an iconic golden turn-lock; the iconic Faye bag is inlaid with fiery panels of snakeskin or transformed as a petite backpack, and the Drew is traced with a decorative laser cut pineapple motif. On foot, cut-out block heeled booties are trimmed with laced eyelets and for evening, triple strap sandals feature delicate bow detailing.
