Introducing the Louis Vuitton Resort 2017 collection by Nicolas Ghesquière featuring Alicia Vikander in Rio de Janeiro.

The campaign was photographed by famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier, and features strong pops of color and classic designs. The campaign looks back at the runway show itself which took place in the Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum.

The setting’s contemporary architecture and ultra-modernist structures embodied the Louis Vuitton Resort 2017 campaign, as they created an appealing contrast with the minimalist lines of the proposals, while simultaneously enhancing creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s appeal for structuralism and travelling.

Alicia Vikander is seen sporting both both utilitarian staples and cruise-ready outfits, as she intriguingly alternates fancy motifs with more casual-chic garments in the campaign. The Oscar winner shows off two of the new handbags in the collection—the emblematic Twist and Capucine.

Palm trees and one of Brazil’s most imposing architectures are served thus as the background for the Swedish actress’ poses, who often places Louis Vuitton’s accessories at the focal points of the photos. With Ghesquière putting a lot of emphasis on the French house’s it-items, such as its signature handbags and new, visionary creations, and the accessory line.
