A group of 27 famous and rising models star in the surreal, quirky collage by photographer Steven Meisel that define the newest Prada Fall 2016 ad campaign.
Prada’s creative director Miuccia Prada translating her collection into a multitude of visual styles channeled by different brand ambassadors that managed to perfectly embody the collection’s eclectic spirit.
“In dressing each morning, a woman recomposes her unique collage of a life. Therein lies her strength,” said Prada.
Set against landscapes, from acid sunrise to twinkling night, Meisel worked with dramatic collages that directly catapulted the models to a fictional space. Given that the collection was inspired by the world traveler, the campaign depicted 27 models as cosmic explorers.
The collection’s trompe l’oeil patters instantly pop up on the collage’s striking backgrounds, enhancing the very few solid-colored accessories, such as cozy gloves and mini handbags. To better recall the sci-fi mood, she concentrated on sleek hairstyles and au naturel makeup looks.
The 27 striking models included Raquel Zimmermann, Angelica Erthal, Roos Abels, Milla Jovovich, Noemie Abigail, Vanessa Axente, Freja Beha Erichsen, Lexi Boling, Vittoria Ceretti, Yoon Young Bae, Sara Dijkink, Danielle Ellsworth, Paulina Frankowska, Amanda Googe, Caitie Greene, Ondria Hardin, Lorena Maraschi, Amanda Murphy, Londone Myers, Julia Nobis, Marina Perez, Sasha Pivovarova, Fei Fei Sun, Stella Tennant, Rianne Van Rompaey, Natalie Westling and Kiki Willems.
