Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen Resort 2017 Collection speaks of an exquisite elegance complete with dramatic ruffles, frills and embroidery.

A lot of attention to detail is given, and there are looks which have two patterns combined into one, such as the British folk art and gypsy motifs. Hand-painted peonies, poppies and petals on leather, ruffles, expertly knitted dresses, tweedy jackets and intricate, embroidered gowns with sheer underlays are just some hallmarks of the collection.

focused on embroidered styles with 1960’s inspired silhouettes and visions of rural England. From balloon shaped sleeves to A-line dresses and sculpted outerwear, the McQueen woman is all about balancing structure and femininity for the new season. Flowers embellish many of the looks ranging from hand-painted leather pieces to houndstooth prints overlaid with white blooms. For evening wear, sheer and embroidered gowns are lightweight yet regal.

Along with all this drama and flair, the collection also offers sleek and sophisticated pieces giving off a glam meet rock chic vibe.

With all that geometry and fluid fabrics, the collection manages also to appear structured and pompous, as well as fresh and modern at the same time, with more classic patterns lightening up the whole floral gipsy theme. Sequined and sleek materials add a glam-rock meets haute couture touch to the entire collection.
