The new Thierry Lasry Paris boutique can be seen from Rue du Four, a convenient artery that connects Le Bon Marché to Café de Flore on the Left Bank. The facade is bordered in beveled black marble striated with amber. Positioned in the center of the window is an enormous eyeball-esque display—a mirrored azure pupil encircled by shelves boasting a multitude of Lasry’s designs. Through the glass, you can detect a golden sphere demarcated with perspective lines so as to appear three-dimensional.
The statement—a wink to surrealism here, an optical illusion there—comes courtesy of Vincent Darré, whose elevated whimsy and offbeat chic aligns with Lasry’s retro-future style. “The glasses are wonderfully constructed with a mix of the best materials, so what I wanted to do for them combined all my obsessions with their universe,” says Darré, referring to Lasry and his brother Léonard, a music composer and co-founder of the brand.
At just under 500 square-feet, the space has been handsomely clad in smoky gray wood hemmed in by a bronze grid and punctuated with illuminated geometric vitrines—everything precisely executed by Emmanuel Bénet of the Paris-based architectural agency Achille. Plexiglas shelves set within the triangles, circles, and squares accommodate Lasry’s wide spectrum of collections.
Back space treated with gold powder applied by an artisan from Atelier Poulaillon features a cabinet that opens like a triptych. Here is where you find limited pieces, from Lasry’s collaboration with Fendi to vintage editions.
The Thierry Lasry boutique is located at 40 Rue du Four, Paris 75006
