Photographer Steven Meisel captured four newcomers for the Miu Miu Spring 2016 ad campaign: actresses Millie Brady, Julia Garner and Matilda Lutz, as well as New York-based artist and actress India Salvor Menuez.

The muted setting of the images allows the collection, described as a study in extreme contrasts: tweed, jacquard, gingham, satin and lace and leather in complex textural compositions featuring diverse forms and colorways, to take centre stage.

As for the personalities taking centre stage in the new campaign, each model also boasts an illustrious list of screen credits to their name, such as the British star of ITV’s Mr Selfridge Millie Brady, soon to appear in Burr Steers forthcoming film Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, and New Yorker Julia Garner, who has recently been seen starring alongside veteran comedy actor Lily Tomlin in the film Grandma.

Keeping the Italian end up, actor Matilda Lutz has also recently been casted in the lead role of Paramount’s newest installment of The Ring, to be released in April. Each actor was encouraged to “confront” the camera by Meisel, allowing them to interact with it in a manner that highlights both their expressive range and beauty.
