Creative Director Jeremy Scott cast models Joan Smalls, Fei Fei Sun, Lexi Boling and Maartje Verhoef in the bright, cheeky Moschino Spring 2016 ad campaign, shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.

In a retro couture salon theme, the ladies pose very seriously in some of the collection’s loudest pieces, including a feather dress, a gown adorned with ’50s-style taillights and sequined eveningwear meant to mimic flashing neon signs. The car wash brushes from the runway make for a funny, fantastical backdrop, and the season’s accessories — including a Powerpuff Girl handbag and a Moschino hard hat — are given plenty of attention as well.

For the Moschino Spring 2016 runway show in September, models paraded down a faux pavement runway lined with street signs and traffic signals, and that transformed into a bubbly car wash about halfway through. The clothing stayed true to this theme, with construction-inspired looks making up the first part of the show, while the colorful cleaning and automotive motifs followed.
