The M Missoni Resort 2016 collection, is inspired to a modern-day cowgirl, sweeping from mid-western prairies with an upbeat energy that makes her enjoy each unbridled rodeo action, and having as background the glorious 1950s, birth of Rock ’n’ Roll, rockabilly style, and American Graffiti.
The silhouette strikes quite a feminine pose: just below the knee skirts outperform pants, invariably widening toward the bottom with strong edging, ample vertical fringe, and an impressive array of inserts, inlays, partial effects.
The wealth of materials, complete with ever imaginative inflections and the usual pursuit of light chunky textures, always make a remarkably innovative statement with the sablé’ and the denim, showing up in both yarn and fabric versions.
As in the case of materials, interplays of vibrant and/or primary colors add definition to the clothes: from the rocky mountain burnt umber to desert mineral rose quartz up to the midnight blue and the gorgeous Texas rose yellow.
