True to its name the new MYKITA x Maison Margiela Transfer collection is about ‘transferring’ familiar patterns and textures to a new context.

Featured in three shades of texture, the new frames offer an avant-garde twist on classic styles through a rework of familiar prints.

In a triumph of modern handcraft, the python texture – a recurrent Maison Margiela motif – has been etched and meticulously lacquered by hand on to the stainless steel frame, putting an intellectual spin on conventional luxury codes. Flat lenses add to the avant-garde aesthetic of this high-fashion eyewear. Patterns and textures from the natural world transferred to a stainless steel frame.
