Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborn created lineup presenting as basics — a nice, clean, urban pieces for the Public School Resort 2016 collection.
“There’s a lot of lightness this time around,” said Chow.
A silver group inspired by mercury, including a coated nylon track jacket and a sweater and leather bomber jacket that were hand-painted with silver splotches, captured Public School’s reputation for cool.
This season, they put a softer accent on their tomboyish aesthetic, focusing on relaxed tailoring and silhouettes with a sense of fluidity and movement. With tailored shirtdresses featured draped skirts that swished and swayed, and wide-leg pants of nearly ball gown proportions fell to the ankles in limpid pleats. The collection also featured foil pants in mega-wide cuts with cargo pockets, chunky-knit sweaters hand-painted with argent brushstrokes, and crinkly mirrored windbreakers.
