For their Spring 2015 collection, Retrosuperfuture has adapted one of its most characteristic silhouettes to match the young brand’s unique aesthetics.

The resulting line combines Retrosuperfuture’s extensive research on material qualities and production techniques with Marques Almeida’s iconic visual references in a series of six contemporary sunglasses.

Marques Almeida was founded in 2011, following Marta Marques’ and Paulo Almeida’s studies in womenswear. The brand’s approach is focuses on attitude rather than technical ability; their designs evoke raw effortlessness while their technical sensibilities are revealed in the construction of each piece.

For their Spring 2015 collection, the eclectic duo created a series of colorful accessories that were translated by RetroSuperFuture’s creative team into a sophisticated line of sunglasses, re-interpreting the feminine and slightly retro drew mama silhouette to form a conceptually elaborate, yet perfectly wearable, piece of eyewear.

The frontal piece of the silhouette — with its rounded lens, soft curves and wide temples — was meticulously covered in hand-dyed real python leather in six different colorways.

The Retrosuperfuture x Marques Almeida sunglasses fuse together supreme Italian craftsmanship with urban style. A classy drew mama silhouette was covered in real python leather dyed in a flashy tones and matched with dark lenses by zeiss in black.
